What is a Lithophane Cube?
Lithophanes are photographs or images that are 3D printed using translucent plastic that comes to life when back lighting is applied to them. These lithophane panels ("lithoplates") are inserted into a cube, to create a beautiful lamp for all sorts of occasions, be it a birthday, mother's or father's day, anniversary, Christmas or memorial etc...

These light cubes are fully 3D printed using a material called "PLA" (Polylactide), a thermoplastic derived from renewable biomass, typically from fermented plant starch such as, but not limited to, corn and sugarcane.
In 2010, "PLA" had the second highest consumption volume of any bioplastic of the world.
